God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

HE does help those who ask and seek and do the best they can to live righteously. But there are times when we become weary and may feel like we cannot carry on. That's when God lifts you up and carries you through the darkest of days and toughest hour.

That day when you wonder how you made it....ever thank God for helping? We quickly forget the arms of the Heavenly Father.

Talk to HIM and thank him for those moments when life seemed out of focus. HE loves hearing from HIS children.

Uncertain Times?

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." was penned by someone else...but the message is right. I am glad I don't know the future. Why?? Because I would be trying to fix it the way I wanted it. I would not be looking for lessons I needed to learn.

Ask yourself...

  1. As I think about uncertain times, am I willing to make God a full partner in my future or am I trying to carry today's burdens by myself?

  2. Am I willing to spend time with God every day in prayer and meditation?

  3. Do I trust that God has a plan for my life and am I willing to let it happen even though I may not understand it right now?

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

In Times of Uncertainty, Trust God's Timing

I picked up a little book the other day called Promises and Prayers. The one particular title caught my eye. The verse...Psalm 40:1..."Waiting patiently for the Lord". Ouch...got me. I tend to go past HIS time. Perhaps I need to include in my prayer ....Help me submit to YOUR time.

God is in control...and it has been said...
"When we get to a place where it can't be done unless God does it,
God will do it!"

Message from another sister in Christ..THIS IS A MUST READ

I think that prayer is not talked enough about in the Church of Christ. I grew up as a Bible Presbyterian preacher's daughter, although most of the churches were non-denominational. Prayer is so very powerful! And is definitely talked about and done more in the denominational world. I would have good friends who when I was troubled would stop and take my hands and we'd prayer about the situation. I knew that when someone told me that they were praying for me that indeed they were and I knew how powerful that was! I think that there are those who are afraid in the Church of Christ of coming off "too denominational" in regards to prayer and have even had some tell me that they don't say "I'm praying for you" because it sounded too denominational!!

To be completely honest I actually prayed more before I came to know the truth. Prayer started having limitations placed on it or at least that is what I felt. I had those tell me you don't need to pray about everything like the denominational world does - trivial things. But I feel that God is there for us no matter what and although whatever is troubling us may seem trivial to someone else is huge to us. So it's "funny" that you actually sent this out because this is something I've really been struggling with here of late and have been breaking out of the shell and have begun to pray more often and more earnestly about everything again. May God open my heart more, my eyes to see what I need to do and my tongue to tell of His love and mercy.

Praying for My Prodigal

It's hard...it eats at you...it can steal your heart away. It is the heartbreak of prodigal family/friends. You can either drown in despair or pull yourself up with prayer.

As women...we need to get back a vigilant prayer life. How do you think Hannah ever received her Samuel without the power of prayer.

Who is your prodigal? How often do you talk to God about them?

Others would love to hear from you.

It is Time to PRAY

Have you examined your prayer life lately? Does it need improvement and is it on your mind daily as well as your lips?

I am creating this blog in order to help myself and other women to become more vigilant about prayer. It was missing in my life for a long time and I neglected the needs not only of myself, but of others because I wasn't praying about it.

I want you to share your prayer life and how you manage it. Share those on your heart that need prayer. Do you need encouragement to pray and don't know where to start? I am convinced that there are many out there in the same situation and are looking for some uplifting.

Let's get started.
